Ticket Program

Up to 90% goes toward your fund raising project.  It’s a win-win!

It might be helpful to look at the benefits of a ticket program for your event: the first thing to consider is that a ticket program makes your efforts to bring people to your event more fruitful.  Consider this: many people who do not plan to attend your event are ready, willing, and able to support your efforts by buying tickets or even blocks of tickets for relatives, co-workers, friends, and employees.  Also, you might think of your ticket as an evangelistic device to get some of your acquaintances to attend this special event in your church or fellowship.  Perhaps the willingness of one of your members to give away tickets could have a real impact on lives in your community.

First:

Decide whether you want to provide your own tickets, or have us provide a template that we can email to you and you print it off.  Some people prefer to make up their own.  Creating a "souvenir ticket" that highlights the occasion, such as "11th Annual Oktoberfest with Special Performance" ... is a good idea.

Secondly, have the pastor talk about it from the pulpit each week before the event.  Best if at least 3-4 weeks.

Conduct a telephone campaign to all your families in your congregation.  This takes a "go-getter" or a committee that can organize a phone drive.  This can be very effective in turning out your congregation and doesn't have to be time consuming.

Next, make tickets available beyond your own congregation.  Distribute them to other churches in your district and at your local Christian bookstore or at the service center of your local grocery/supermarket.  Tickets could also be sold at the door.

We feel it is best if the youth get involved selling tickets, handing out flyers and putting up posters.

Finally, find out which local businesses might donate blocks of 10-20 or more tickets or so to your cause.  Business leaders are often very open to the idea of providing a "positive experience" to their local community, and, after all, there really is nothing more positive for a community than spreading the Gospel.

A Big Bonus for people is if babysitting is provided onsite.

Also, a good idea for a fundraiser with 100% of the proceeds for the youth is to have them sell beverages and snacks or homemade deserts donated from the congregation.

COST / How this works:  First we receive our agreed fee then out of the proceeds we receive 10% and you receive up to 90% of the proceeds.

The ticket program really is a win - win situation for everyone because even if a couple cannot attend they can either buy or give their ticket to another couple or just give it to the church knowing that a percentage would go towards your church. (For dinner theater we suggest $30 per couple for tickets). Your church can then decide how to disperse the tickets. Maybe have a drawing or as part of the benevolence fund. The percentage you would receive would help defray any costs you have incurred for the dinner, decorations etc.

Remember inviting the community is a great way to reach out to the community as well as possibly bring others into your church. You can have a few extra seats for those who decide at the last minute to buy tickets at the door.

Advertising:

Most community newspapers have an announcement section for non-profits and you can send the dinner theater ticket announcement to the newspaper and have them run it for a few weeks for free! Also local Christian or even non-Christian radio stations will do what is called a PSA (Public Service Announcement) with who, what, when, where and your phone number for free and will often run that several times.  Also, if there is an Arts & Entertainment paper in your area we strongly recommend that you put an ad in there.  We had a situation where the pastor expected a small turnout of 50 or so for his event.  He put an ad in the Arts & Entertainment and over 800 people showed up!

We've discovered that a well-run ticket program gives everyone a better experience, and don't forget to have fun as you create a successful event for your congregation!

This is a win-win situation, and better (in our view) than simply paying a fee for our programs.

God Bless,

Allan and Jenny
